Im Steph Marie Carbajal, A California-based creative direction / advertising student who studies at Art Center College of design. My strongest work is the product of multiple perspectives from individuals who share similar artistic visions and values for the future. In my major specific courses, like Art Direction 1, I’ve gained valuable experiences that will continue to foster the development of my advertising skills. The knowledge I’ve gained has truly helped me grow as a creative. In my practice, I’m committed to creating an impact in every project that I create. One that challenges the viewer so much that you change your perspective on pop culture and its products entirely. Though there are many notable advertisements of today, often I find the message leaves no room for viewer interpretation. Advertisements should not just be selling a brand, They must help viewers understand what’s being conveyed while also making it relevant to their own experiences. This is where I see creative direction as an opportunity to expand on this. I want to explore ways to make stories and aesthetics both relatable and engaging for consumers, creating an experience that is unique to each individual.
